Our Purpose

Signal 2 Support is a not-for-profit charity that guides and supports NSW Police Force (NSWPF) officers through the medical discharge process for both psychological and physical injuries. We ensure that no NSWPF officer feels alone, lost, or confused during the discharge process.

Signal 2 Support offers help to officers at any stage of your discharge journey; whether it’s from the moment that you realise you need to put your mental and/or physical health first but don’t know where or how to start, or whether you have already begun the medical discharge process.

Whether the goal is to medically discharge or return to work after an injury, Signal 2 Support will ensure that your recovery is a priority and not an afterthought.

Our Story

Signal 2 Support was founded by Alice and Jimmy after Alice's medical discharge from the NSW Police Force (NSWPF) with PTSD in 2021.

Alice was a member of the NSWPF for 10 years serving at Kings Cross PAC, Metropolitan Crash Investigation Unit and Crime Scene.

The personal experience Alice and Jimmy have with the discharge process allows them to empathetically guide and support discharging police and their loved ones, so they feel empowered and in control throughout the process.

Why the koi fish?

The Koi fish is one of the most important symbols in Japanese culture, as it is believed that the species shares the same bravery as the Samurai. Due to the Koi’s ability to swim upstream, overcome waterfalls, and even survive in frozen ponds, they have come to symbolise strength, resilience, courage and perseverance.

These are all attributes that NSWPF officers share, particularly during the medical discharge process.
